In contrast to my environment, I never treat money like an extremely private topic.
I could say how much I earn per hour or monthly, which wasn’t a problem.
Friends and family also gave me their secrets about money because we were on the same level for years.
However, after years of being completely truthful with my friends and family about cash, I know why talking about money is taboo.
Talking about money is taboo because people are jealous.
If you earn the same cash as them, everything is perfect. You can talk about it and complain with them, and then everyone will be happy.
But if your income exceeds their earnings limits… be quiet. Otherwise, people will hate you and stop meeting with you.
After all, what right do you have to earn more than them?
At that moment, they’ll do anything to keep you out of their environment.
This situation also happened to me.
When I earned $1000, I had plenty of friends. As my earnings increased, my number of friends decreased – not because I stopped talking, but because they stopped responding. They couldn’t stand the fact that I was earning more.
I was really open to talking about money; however, after years, I started admitting my earnings only to my future wife. No one else knows exactly how much I earn.
Talking about the money causes problems. The more you confess your earnings, the more issues you’ll encounter.
Which difficulties?
- People won’t like you,
- Someone will rob you,
- Friends will want to borrow money from you.
It’s not worth it. Don’t elaborate on money with everyone – say about it for the most trusted people.
I already know that. It’s a little late but better than never.
