Technology isn’t dangerous unless people wouldn’t start using it for inappropriate deeds.
AI can help maximize our work capability and provide comfort in our lives.
But what if AI producers begin using this technology to…
- kill us,
- control us,
- or… command us to kill others.
In that case, I have one crucial example in my mind.
Case of Neuralink, developed by Elon Musk’s company
This example is Neuralink, a pioneering technology developed by Elon Musk’s company. The concept behind Neuralink is to create a direct interface between the human brain and computers. It promises groundbreaking possibilities – allowing people to control devices with their thoughts, potentially curing neurological conditions, and enhancing cognitive abilities.
However, with such immense power comes equally tremendous responsibility. The potential dangers of Neuralink and similar technologies lie not in the devices themselves but in how they might be used.
Imagine a scenario where this brain-computer interface could be hacked or manipulated.
What if those controlling this technology decided to use it for sinister purposes?
If Neuralink were to fall into the wrong hands, it could be exploited to monitor or even control people’s thoughts and actions. In extreme cases, it could be used to command individuals to commit acts against their will. The idea of an external entity having direct access to our thoughts and potentially overriding our free will is terrifying.
So… we should be scared of how technology will be used. Technology isn’t dangerous… unless people stop using it for immoral purposes.
