How does your birthplace influence you?

I was born in Poland, and I’ve been living in that place for my whole life.

That’s the safe country where I feel comfortable.

All my family and friends exist here, and we love our land, because of:

  • not the worst earnings (average salary is $1,200 – $1,500 monthly),
  • safety (we have hardly any people from abroad, and if we have it from Ukraine),
  • free health care (the big con is long, weekly or monthly queues, but we can book the private visit for $50, it depends on the kind of specialist),
  • free hospital (emergency treatment for most accidents in the hospital is free),
  • high-quality food at reasonable prices (you can eat healthy, paying only 10-15% more than standard).

But… what if I was born in an entirely different part of the world, for instance, in a small, poor village in Africa, where people earn $100, don’t have an internet connection, and run water?

If I consider it from a Polish citizen’s perspective… I’ll migrate from there as soon as possible.

However, the longer I think about it, the more I wonder if any of you would feel the same about me.

Or everywhere is better than in Poland, and I don’t realize it because I was born here.

Human nature causes us to become attached to our countries and family homes.

Even war doesn’t stop some people from staying in their country.

So I can say that people want to be where their family home is. And even if they move out in the future, they will always come back to it.

Do you have the same opinion?
